This Privacy Policy (and any other documents referred to in it) set out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. The purpose of this statement is to explain to you what personal information we collect and how we may use it.

By visiting www.baractivity.com and our associated domains (our “Site”), and in particular by submitting your personal data to us, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Policy. 

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that, once we have received your data, it is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this privacy policy

Any changes we may make to our Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page. We recommend that you check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we make, as they are binding on you if you provide us with information after such a change has been made. The date of the last update will be displayed at the top of the page.

Information which we may collect from you

We collect personal identification information from Users of our Site in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users...

  • visit and browse our Site,
  • register for an account on the Site,
  • place an order on the Site
  • fill out a form on the Site
  • subscribe to our promotional email newsletters through the Site
  • engage in other activities, services, features or resources available on our Site.

Should a User choose to register an account on our Site, whether they are purchasing or not, the Site will store details they have provided on the new account registration page including an email address and password (which is encrypted), Additional information such as name, title, business name, address, country and telephone number can also be entered and stored on the My Account page. Additional information not visible to the User is also stored such as the data of registration, date of last visit, IP address and hostname at time of registration. All this information is stored securely on our Site which is hosted on a third party e-commerce platform (Bluepark).

These personal details can be viewed and amended by the User at any time by logging into their account and visiting the My Account page. A record of your order history (if applicable) for the previous 24 months is also accessible from this page on a separate tab. It is the responsibility of the User to ensure that their personal information is accurate and up to date and we recommend you regularly check the information on the My Account page to ensure it is accurate.

When a User places an order through the Site, the information they enter, such as their name, email address, billing address, delivery address, telephone number, company name and VAT number will be stored within the order. Other information stored during the order process includes...

  • their IP address, its host name and country location
  • the type of device they used, such as a mobile or desktop
  • the date and time they placed the order
  • their payment method (i.e.l Paypal or Card)
  • how much was paid
  • the shipping method
  • the products that were ordered

Payment information provided by the User is securely handled and stored by either Secure Trading (for credit and debit cards) or Paypal. Payment information (other than method of payment) is not stored on our website.

Right To Be Forgotten

If you have registered an account on the Bar Activity website and wish for your account information to be deleted please submit a request for account deletion on our account deletion page. Although account information can be deleted, information provided and stored for individual orders must be kept for a minimum of six years to comply with VAT and accounting legislation.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. The User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. The User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert them when cookies are being sent. If a User chooses to refuse cookies some parts of the Site may not function properly.

The two cookies used on baractivity.com are..

  • PHPSESSID - To enable the site to recognise the same user clicking from page to page. Without it, every page would be treated as the first visit to the site, and anything added to the shopping basket would be instantly forgotten. Online shopping would, therefore, be impossible. This cookie expires on exit.
  • SESSION - For visitor convenience, this is created with a copy of the initial session ID so that they can be classed as "returning" and the contents of their shopping basket will still be available. If the user signs in with an email address and password, these login details are are also saved so that they can remain logged in when returning (the password is encrypted). If the user signs out, their login details are removed from the cookie. This cookie expires after 1 year.

How we use collected information

Bar Activity collects and uses Users personal information for the following purposes:

  • To personalize user experience - we may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.
  • To improve our Site - we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
  • To process transactions - we may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
  • To administer a content, promotion, survey or other Site feature - to send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
  • To send periodic emails - the email address Users provide for order processing, will only be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.

Third Parties

We do not sell, rent or exchange your personal information with any third parties for commercial reasons.

We do however, use third party service providers to process customer orders. These include...

  • A secure e-commerce platform - our website is hosted by Bluepark, a UK based e-commerce platform. Customer account and order information is held on Bluepark's secure servers and backed up to our own password protected, encrypted hard drives for future reference and administration purposes. No payment details are held on this system. Customers who register an account online can view this information on the My Account page of our website. Customers who purchase as a guest will not be able to access this information online.
  • A secure payment gateway - to handle payments made by credit and debit cards. A high level of security is used to ensure your payment information is encrypted so it can't be read by anyone else when processing your order. This payment information is held by SecureTrading, our payment gateway provider. 
  • Paypal - we offer Paypal as a method of paying for goods and services. Information about a transaction is held by Paypal on secure servers. The User can access information held for a transaction by logging in to the Paypal account used to make payment.
  • A courier service - We use Royal Mail, UK Mail and other courier services to process the delivery of your order. Your name, business name, delivery address, telephone number (if provided) and email address (if provided) are provided to the courier company so that they can delivery your items and contact you regarding delivery if necessary.
  • Other Suppliers - For some orders, the delivery and contact details you provide to us are passed to a third party supplier to be dropshipped directly to you from their warehouse. This usually applies to larger items such as outdoor furniture (picnic benches, etc.) and larger equipment which comes direct from the manufacturer.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site. Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.
